One Salt Water
It's a week since the category 4 cyclone hit Tonga and good to know that the Australian government, Red Cross & NZ government (and we're sure others as well) have pledged and sent initial aid in the form of emergency shelter and health care.
We have made contact with our friends and family in Nuku'alofa this morning. They are still without power and have a supply of root vegetables such as taro to last the rest of this month. Food shortage is quickly becoming a crisis issue, so we have decided to send a crate of non perishable food supplies via ship as soon as possible. (This crate will also contain medical supplies that will be used on our scheduled trip in July).
If you would like to donate something towards our Tongan neighbours at this time, we will be collecting the following (by February 27th)
Milk powder
Flour
Rice
Crackers
Peanut butter
Sugar
Soup ... See MoreSee Less

The "Under One Sun" soccer event is a round-robin style tournament that celebrates Australia's diverse cultures on Harmony Day (25th March). Hosted by 'One Salt Water' at Dobell Park, Rothwell, each team is to complete a free online registration via the link located at the Facebook Event Page. Apart from the soccer tournament, this event will celebrate Harmony Day by offering foods and activities originating from all around the world. The Soccer Tournament will have a briefing at 11:00am with all players from every team before commencing shortly after. The food stalls will also be open from this time. With road side parking and toilet access, this event welcomes families to join the players to cheer, eat and enjoy the community atmosphere.
